Trip to Iraq, December 6 to 13, 2004 |

In the
second week of December we (Dr. Eva-Maria Hobiger and Eng. Bashar Hindo)
were in Iraq again. We decided on this trip in spite of the situation there,
which is especially dangerous for foreigners, because the success we had
achieved before could only be secured by an additional substantial delivery of
relief supplies. In fact, the stock of pharmaceuticals, which we had supplied in
the past, was nearing its end and some medications had already run out
completely. |

March 8 – 10, 2004: Dr. Hobiger travels to Damascus to bring important medications for a child in Baghdad and to bring 17-year-old Zena together with her father for medical treatment to Vienna. Mohammed Sahir, 16 months old, is a
native of Basra. He suffers from a congenital heart defect (a hole in the
ventricular septum). He arrived in Vienna for treatment on May 15, 2005,
together with his mother. He will have surgery at the AKH and we will report on
his treatment. Mariana, 6 months old, also a child with a congenital heart
defect will probably come to Graz for surgery in June.
